A traditional Mac N Cheese that you can PUT ANY spin on!
Ingredients
- 12 oz Elbow Macaroni or the pasta of your choice
- 1/2 stick Unsalted Butter
- 3-4 TBSP All Purpose Flour
- 1/2 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1/2 Cup Whole Milk
- 2-3 Cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese use any cheese you want!
- 1/4 Cup Grated parmesean
- to taste Coarse Salt
- to taste Coarse Black Pepper
- 1/2 Cup Bread Crumb Panko is always the best
- to taste granulated onion
- to taste granulated garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350*
- Bring a large pot of water to boil and add a generous amount of salt.
Cook your pasta according to the Al Dente directions on the box as it will continue to cook in the oven.
- While the pasta is cooking, melt your butter in the skillet.
Cook the butter a little longer until its golden brown for a more intense flavor.
- Once the butter is brown, add in the flour and whisk continuously until a rue starts to form.(1-3 mins)
- Add in the milk and HWC and whisk to get rid of any lumps and now you can add in your seasonings.
Bring to a boil until it starts to thicken like a gravy.
Now WE ADD THE CHEESE!
BE sure and reserve some of this cheese for the top!
- Add in the pasta and stir until mixed well and top with the remaining cheddar and I also added some grated parmesan for the top!
- Bake at 350* for 15-20 unit bubbly
- I now add the Panko to the top and turn the broiler on for 5 mins or so until I get the crust I want on top.
